    The term relaxation response meditation was put forward by Herbert Benson MD, from Harvard Business School. This technique has been in use with different names and with different aspects, be it religious or cultural. To name some Yoga, Zen and transcendental meditation are such techniques of relaxation response. Regular meditation of this sort has valuable effects other than relaxation such as patience and improved attentiveness.

    Meditation can be difficult to practice because the mind is always busy with continuous running thoughts. Although it may seem difficult at first you will learn the relaxation response meditation soon.

    # Sit in a comfortable position
    # Close your eyes
    # Concentrate between your eyebrows
    # Stay focused on every inhalation and exhalation
    # Keep relaxing with every breath
    # Repeat the ‘om’ chant with every exhalation to induce relaxation

    Learning To Relax

    We learn a zillion things through our life but hardly do we pay attention to relaxation. We never make an effort to relax ourselves. We are mostly in a hurry to finish tasks and achieve goals. We do not even relax while we are sleeping or even breathing. Relaxation is a technique and it can be learnt over a period of time. Inducing a relaxation response with meditation lets relax every bit of you from the frown on your forehead, dropping your tongue in your mouth or relaxing your neck and letting it just loose.

    # An open space with some fresh air needs to be chosen to be seated
    # A clean environment is of utmost importance for a healthy mind, hence the room has to be a clean one.
    # A candle and some flowers in the room do make a difference.
    # Cool and comfortable dress has to be worn.
    # To avoid distraction, mobile phones and television need to be switched off
    # An aromatic oil diffuser or some other kind of room freshener adds to the effectiveness of the relaxation technique.

    Another good option for carrying out relaxation response meditation could be in natural locations such as a hill, forest, beach or Himalayas.

    Practicing the relaxation response meditation daily can bring meaningful changes in your life.  Relaxation response meditation has the power to produce physiological changes in the body. You may have gone through stressful situations or are even going through now. Begin practicing relaxation response and open you up for new things that lead you to a spiritual path that is highly rewarding. Who says you cannot achieve by doing nothing.

    To relief Tension effectively, relaxation is not the only treatment for anxiety. In fact, cognitive behavioral therapy seems to be the best treatment for anxiety, and by far the best medicine for anxiety treatment till full recovery!
